My patio furniture is something I thought long and hard about before purchasing. In the past, I had the sculpted white chairs that you can pick up at any supermarket and they rarely lasted more than a season or two. When I decided to invest in quality outdoor patio furniture, I had a lot to think about.
My patio furniture is crafted of wrought iron frames in a soft bronze finish. The table legs and seat legs have beautiful scrollwork that’s pretty, but not over the top, and offsets the tabletop nicely. I have a woven mesh tabletop, but chose to add a tempered glass top to it for added elegance when I do summer entertaining.
Wrought iron is beautiful, wears well in all weather, and offers the classic design elements I have in the rest of my home. It was a natural choice when I considered outside patio furniture design options, especially since the sturdiness of it can support the weight of our larger family members. Those plastic chairs just couldn’t bear the weight of our bodies and weren’t at all comfortable.
Another thing I love about my patio furniture is that I can leave it out year round, and I have these beautiful padded cushions I put on and take off whenever I want. I have several different cushions, including one for our bench glider. Having different color cushions that can be changed from time to time add a level of fashion that wasn’t even possible with the molded patio furniture I use to have.
